Good day to you...
The international games week, interweek, is over for us South Africans, and so is the Public Servants (is saying servants politically correct?) Strike...Pheew!!! I know the strike could well start again after 21 days, but for now we I take it its over.
Please NOTE!!!
This is not a political blog, nor do I have any aspirations to do political commentary. There's quite a lot of that in this country. What we are here is a footballing blog PERIOD Now and again, of course the will be a lot of venturing into other sporting codes. But will remain a football blog run by Birds followers. The greatest team ever seen in this country.
The reason I mentioned the strike is, it did affect some teams in terms of registering players. Especially foreign players, as they are required by law to have work permits before representing any local team. The strike meant that could not be done. I wonder what the due date for registration was/is. If that was during the strike, I also wonder what kind of recourse teams will have if they didn't get a chance to register players and want to do it now.
The International game are still on going, there are some Euro qualifiers and some interesting friendlies, particularly Spain vs Argentina. But for us in South Africa it is back to the PSL games. Awesome that! Some juicy games coming up. We have Ajax Cape Town coming up to Dobsonville stadium tomorrow. Eight O'clock kickoff.
I have to be at the game of course, but will have to get this past Mrs blogger here. But truth be told, travelling from the Pretoria/Tshwane region to Dobsonville does pose a few question especially for a night game. I do hope the guys in Dobsonville will show up for the game. The Birds will need a lot of support especially against Ajax that is trying hard to show everyone that they are bigger than the teams up in Gauteng.
It should be a cracker of a game and where ever you will be watching from, enjoy the game.
Cheers and see you soon...
