The last day of the few awesome days we have in a week. Hope you enjoy whatever is left of it. I have been outside and seen people looking really happy, a few braai smokes here and there. This can only be the effects of such a beautiful sunday...
Football is on today. We are away at Amazulu a the fabulous Moses Mabhida stadium. I hope crowds pitch up today to add some much needed atmosphere to the local footballing scene. So far Amazulu has done one better than us, having won one and I think they lost the other one. It will be a hugely important game for both of us. We desperately needs to get back to winning ways, and Amazulu will obviously out to get a scalp of one of the bigger teams of this country.
What gives me hope is that we didn't concede in our last game against Ajax away. The defensive combination that was used in that game is relatively new, with Cichon having been suspended a week earlier. Ashraf Hendriks, who has played all our games so far understands the importance of this game. Saying on our official site,
“The game against AmaZulu is a must win encounter for us. The turnaround has to come against AmaZulu. We have two difficult games after this one against Chiefs and Ajax and you do not want to go into those games low on morale. We need the win to this match for our confidence”I am glad he understand what is at stake here, and what this means going forward. This should be the message that is clearly communicated to the rest of the team. But what I also hope our players don't do is to have the concentration distracted by game against the Other team midweek. Our full effort today should be on Amazulu and Amazulu alone. It is important as he says that we go in to the other games coming from a win.
We are still missing a few players as indicated here. The missing players don't worry me much, there should have been a lot of work put in at training this week. What we had in Cape Town a week ago was a slightly positive result, that should be improved on.
In other news our coach apologizes to the media for not showing up at a media day or something of that sort. Its all good a well to appologies, but such petty things will distract us from our objectives.I hope it doesn't and we focus on our main business which is football.
Heres' to three points....
Cheers and sse you soon
